Showtime!!
We're finally here everyone. This week Tuesday, it's time. We've been preparing for this for awhile now, so I'm not to worried. I'll continue to try my best, and utilize everything you all and my teachers prepared me for. I want to thank everyone for following me through this, and even those who just clicked on this out of pure randomness. I hope to not let anyone down. Kendrick signing off for the last time, and, once again, thank you.
It's Later!!
Another week, another update, but you all know I'm always happy to do these. It's now later and I have my capstone website here to show all of you. Give me any specific feedback and I'll use your suggestions to improve my website. As for everything, poster, giveaway, etc, you'll just have to come see me, and it's only 1 week until showtime.

Preparations
Salutations everyone, welcome back for another weekly update. This week was mostly me preparing for my capstone presentation. I would love to show all of you my labor, but that will come later. Until then please continue to keep up with me and follow on Google+. (2 weeks until showtime).
Do it Yourself
Another update from me Kendrick. Thinking about my blog from last time, it occurred to me that I should let people know of ways they can search for themselves. The internet is one of the most used researching tools of today, and it can help you with my topic too. Some online resources you can use for yourself are:ehow.com and Depression Help. There are also many more online resources and ways to find local help using the internet. Keeping it short and sweet, be seeing everyone next week.

Somebody's Watching Me!
Welcome again old and newcomers. This blog will show you some symptoms of clinical depression to look out for. If you remember from my end product, last week's blog, showing these will go along with it. Keep in mind, these don't always 100% signal depression, but even then it won't hurt you to ask what's going on. I'll drop these here and see everyone next week. (4 weeks till showtime)
Symptoms Include:
Feelings of sadness, emptiness or unhappiness
Angry outbursts, irritability or frustration, even over small matters
Loss of interest or pleasure in normal activities, such as sex
Sleep disturbances, including insomnia or sleeping too much
Tiredness and lack of energy, so that even small tasks take extra effort
Changes in appetite — often reduced appetite and weight loss, but increased cravings for food and weight gain in some people
Anxiety, agitation or restlessness — for example, excessive worrying, pacing, hand-wringing or an inability to sit still
Slowed thinking, speaking or body movements
Feelings of worthlessness or guilt, fixating on past failures or blaming yourself for things that are not your responsibility
Trouble thinking, concentrating, making decisions and remembering things
Frequent thoughts of death, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts or suicide

My End Product
Kendrick here with another weekly update. For our capstone projects we need to implement and execute an end product. The end product is supposed to be our way of doing something to solve or improve the situation of our problem on a community scale (though widespread is also acceptable). My end product revolves around how sometimes there can be help available in places many people frequent
daily, such as school, and it can still go unnoticed. People can also
show clear signs that something is wrong, and never be asked about it.
My end product focuses on bringing awareness to depression, and, through my website, I hope to show treatment options, symptoms to watch for,
and give people an idea on where to look. Depression is like a
sickness, and, like all sicknesses, we can find a cure. It's not going to
happen overnight, but it won't happen unless we work together and bring
awareness.Once again, like my problem, I would like to hear from everyone to see what you think.

My Problem
Welcome back to another weekly update from me. After doing
some general research both on the library database and the internet, I've come
up with my problem. My problem focuses on putting depression in a more public
view. I feel that many people never notice someone else's symptoms, and also
tend not to ask; especially with people they don't know. There are also
situations when someone who has depression won't notice that they do. We think
of depression as some lingering sadness, and, while can be true, it isn't
always the case. You may find that you are tired all the time, and all you want
to do is sleep. Depression can also trigger insomnia, forgetfulness, and an
inability to take pleasure in normal activities. According to Eve Wood, MD,
clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of Arizona, and
author of 10 Steps to Take Charge of Your Emotional Life, "Women often
say, 'I'm not depressed; I just don't care', but that indifference can signal
depression." It turns out that excessive fatigue, insomnia, and
joylessness can all be symptoms of depression. As subtle and confusing as signs
of depression can sometimes be, it's important to remember that depression is a
serious illness that can cramp lives, cast a shadow over families, and even
lead to suicide. Growing research has documented the serious and chronic
effects of depression on the human brain - effects that can make a person
susceptible to future incidents of depression. Depression knows no age, race,
gender, or life situation; it can affect the richest of us or the poorest. I
will discuss my problem with my teacher to make it more refined, but I would
love to hear what you guys think. Another update next week!
My Topic
Welcome back to my blog everyone. This blog is meant to put a definition to my topic, Clinical Depression. Clinical Depression, also known as Major Depression, is one of the
most common forms of Depression we see in the United States and it
affects 3 million people per year.
Depression is a mood disorder that causes a constant feeling of sadness and loss of interest. It can affect how you feel, think, behave, and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and depression may make you feel as if life isn't worth living. Short, but to the point. My research continues.

Changing My Topic
Hello everyone, this is Kendrick. First of, I want to welcome everyone and thank you for reading my blog. This is my first blog post, and there will be more to come. These will focus on my capstone over the course of nine weeks, so expect weekly updates.
Moving along, I decided to change my topic, from what i had last semester, for capstone. My original topic focused on treatment of patients in mental health facilities, but now I'm covering Clinical Depression. This change was mostly for research purposes and shifts of interest. My research begins this week, so I'll report to everyone then.
